What it is

As we age, we don't just wrinkle — we deflate. Cheeks flatten, the area around the mouth hollows, and the jawline softens. Hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers gently replace that lost volume and smooth folds in the lips, cheeks, chin, and jawline. We use Juvederm, RHA, and Restylane and match the product to the area and the result you're after, because the right filler in the right place is the difference between refreshed and overfilled. Our philosophy is restraint and balance: we treat the face as a whole, not one feature in isolation, so you look rested and like yourself — not done.

Is it right for you?

Dermal Fillers is often a good fit if you’re focused on:

  • Flattening cheeks or a softening jawline
  • Subtle lip definition or hydration (not an obvious 'done' look)
  • Deeper folds that Botox alone won't address
  • Restoring balance after age-related volume loss

Let's talk first if:

  • You're pregnant or breastfeeding — we'll wait until it's appropriate
  • You have an active skin infection in the area; we'll reschedule
  • Your concern is fine surface lines or muscle movement — Botox or a biostimulator may be the better tool, and we'll tell you honestly

The best way to know is a consultation, where we review your goals and health history and recommend an honest plan.

What to expect

Filler is a precise, in-office treatment. Here's how a visit usually goes:

  1. 1

    Consultation & mapping

We assess your face in proportion, discuss what's bothering you, and agree on a conservative plan and the right product before anything is injected.

  2. 2

    The treatment

Most HA fillers we use include a numbing agent, and we can apply topical numbing for comfort. Treatment is typically quick, with careful, incremental placement.

  3. 3

    Comfort & downtime

Some swelling, tenderness, or small bruising in the area is normal and settles over the following days. We'll review simple aftercare so you look your best for what's ahead.

  4. 4

    Timeline to results

You'll see a difference right away, with the final, settled result emerging as any swelling resolves over the next week or two. Individual results vary.

Realistic results

Done thoughtfully, filler reads as 'you, rested' — a balanced, hydrated, gently lifted version of your own features, not a different face. HA filler isn't permanent; it's gradually metabolized over time, so results are maintained with periodic touch-ups on a cadence we'll plan together. We build slowly and conservatively, and because HA can be adjusted or dissolved, you're never locked in. Individual results vary.

Dermal Fillers — common questions

What's the difference between Botox and dermal filler?

Botox relaxes the muscles that crease your skin when you move, softening lines like the frown '11s' and crow's feet. Dermal filler does the opposite job — it adds back volume that's been lost, smoothing folds and refining areas like the lips, cheeks, and jawline. Many patients benefit from a thoughtful combination, and at your consultation we'll recommend whichever actually fits your goal.

Will dermal filler make my lips or face look overdone?

Not the way we practice. At FloAesthetics we place filler conservatively and treat the face in proportion, building slowly so the result reads as balanced and natural rather than 'done.' Because we use hyaluronic acid fillers, the result can also be adjusted or dissolved if needed. Individual results vary.

Are dermal fillers reversible?

The hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers we use — Juvederm, RHA, and Restylane — can be dissolved with an enzyme if you ever want them adjusted or removed, which is one reason we favor them. Your provider will review your options at your consultation.

How long do dermal fillers last?

Filler isn't permanent — your body gradually metabolizes it over time, and how long it lasts depends on the product and the area treated. Most patients maintain their results with periodic touch-ups on a cadence we plan together at your visit.
